Today’s woman has to deal without a lot of different health issues ranging from mental health through natal care. As a society, we should all cherish the people who could be or are the mothers of our children. Unfortunately, we don’t always put enough time and resources in addressing the health issues that are important to our women. Things are better than they were prior, but there’s still a ways to go. Thanks to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, we now have one week devoted to women’s health. The DHHS calls it “National Women’s Health Week.”

About National Women’s Health Week

Each year, the DHHS sponsors National Women’s Health Week during May. The actual week starts on Mother’s Day and concludes at the end of the following Saturday. In 2019, this wonderful week of celebration regarding women’s health will start on May 12 and end on May 18.

Throughout the nation, a great number of important health organizations will be sponsoring events to bring awareness to the health concerns of women. In some places, women will get access to free health screenings as well as education about important health issues. The will also get access to information about nutrition and exercise for women of all ages.
