The Prevalence of Bulimia
Bulimia is an eating disorder that is characterized by binging on a large amount of food, then purging those calories out of your body through vomiting, starving, excessive exercise, laxatives, or other methods.
It has recently been estimated that nearly 60% of all bulimia cases occur between the ages of 16 to 19. Furthermore, only 10% of bulimia people with bulimia will seek out treatment. These statistics, combined with the inherent health risks, make bulimia a dangerous disease for teenagers.
