About Us

Selah House is a place to reclaim freedom from your eating disorder. Set in the peaceful Indiana countryside, our team of professionals offers Christian eating disorder treatment for women and teen girls with a primary diagnosis of anorexia, bulimia, ARFID, OSFED, or other co-occurring disorders.

Our focus at Selah is to address and deal with underlying issues and support long-term recovery so that our clients are able to walk in freedom from eating disorders. We believe the combination of a unique step-down approach and multidisciplinary therapies in a homelike setting are the best path for treatment.

The Selah House Difference

Individualized Treatment

Before starting care, our clinical team evaluates each client’s unique needs and recommends an appropriate length of stay. Our flexible programs are tailored to support lasting recovery, with an average stay of six weeks for both adult and adolescent clients. This personalized approach ensures each individual receives the right level of support at the right time.

Clinical Excellence

Our expert treatment team integrates evidence-based therapies — such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family therapy, art therapy, and equine-assisted therapy — to promote lasting healing and whole-person recovery.

Selah House is proud to be accredited at the highest level by CARF International, a global leader in health and human services accreditation. This distinction reflects our ongoing commitment to quality, safety, and clinically effective care for eating disorders.

Faith-Based Support Rooted in Compassion

At Selah House, Christianity is woven into the heart of our care — not as a separate offering, but as an authentic expression of who we are. We extend God’s love to our clients through a compassionate, grace-filled environment that allows women to rediscover their true identity, beyond shame, sorrow, or self-doubt. In this space of unconditional acceptance, seeds of healing are planted and nurtured, allowing transformation to take root.

Women of all faith backgrounds have found care, acceptance, and renewal at Selah House. Clients are always respected in how much they wish to incorporate faith into their treatment experience.

Our Story: A Calling to Care

Selah House began with a shared sense of purpose: a calling to serve women struggling with eating disorders. In the early 2000s, a group of dedicated professionals met wherever they could — coffee shops, churches, and borrowed office space — to offer support and hope to those in need. But without a centralized place for care, many women were left without access to healing.

In early 2006, this group came together with a clear vision: to create a safe, Christ-centered space where women could recover in both body and spirit. That August, Selah House opened its first location — an eight-bed home offering high-quality care in a nurturing, homelike setting. Women from across the country came seeking help and found freedom.

As the need for care continued to grow, Selah House expanded its services in 2011 with the launch of inpatient programming — becoming Indiana’s premier residential eating disorder treatment center and the only inpatient facility of its kind in the state. This expansion made care more accessible through insurance participation and allowed Selah to serve even more women in need.

In 2013, the organization opened a dedicated program for adolescent girls, built on the same philosophy of clinically excellent, Christ-centered care in a home-like environment. Then, in 2017, Selah added a step-down program to support women transitioning from higher levels of care into daily life.

Today, while the programs and services have grown, the mission remains unchanged: to walk alongside every woman with compassion, clinical excellence, and the love of Christ — offering not just treatment, but lasting transformation.
