A Note From Our Medical Director
If you are reading this, you must be concerned about your own struggle or that of a loved one. Eating disorders are serious conditions. If left untreated, they can cause long-term medical and psychiatric complications, and even death. Early intervention with experienced treatment professionals is crucial.
You will find that Selah’s approach is very personal and unique. Often patients don’t feel understood or heard when they see their physicians, but that is not the case here. I am directly involved in treatment, and spend time with my patients weekly. We don’t just do medication reviews periodically with rotating psychiatrists. Since we only take 8 clients in our program, I see residents regularly throughout their programming for ongoing medical and psychiatric reviews. Therefore I am able to know and develop a relationship with each person.
If you are unsure about the severity of the eating disorder please consider getting an eating disorder assessment with us or other trained professionals. ~Tonya
